
Zurab Alkhanishvili
Vice President
Zurab Alkhanishvili is an experienced healthcare manager, public health and health promotion specialist, lecturer, and trainer with a proven track record in the healthcare sector. He holds three Master’s degrees: one in Health Promotion and Health Education, another in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Healthcare Management, and he is currently pursuing a PhD in Clinical and Translational Medicine.
With over a decade of experience, Zurab has developed substantial expertise in healthcare management, public health, dentistry, health promotion, and medical education. He has also completed certificate programs in health policy and health economics, along with hands-on training courses at Semmelweis University in Hungary and Alexandria University Clinic in Egypt.
Since 2014, he has served as the elected Vice President of the Georgian Dental Association. As of 2025, he is the President of the Georgian Association for Public Health and Well-being.
Throughout his career Zurab Alkhanishvili has held various leadership and expert positions across government and non-government sectors, early childhood development initiatives and professional associations. He currently serves as the Public Health Projects Coordinator at UNA Georgia. Zurab is also an expert-facilitator for the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (EQE) and a member of the Expert Council responsible for authorizing higher education institutions and accrediting academic programs.
He has extensive experience working with international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) UNICEF UNDP and Zinc Network. As part of a contractual engagement he served as a public health expert-trainer for World Vision International contributing to educational programs and policy-level interventions. He also served as a national vaccination trainer during the COVID-19 pandemic and has contributed to the development of numerous manuals methodological guidelines and official state documents. Until 2025 he led the youth health accessibility program within USAID’s Unity Through Diversity initiative.
Zurab is a dedicated science communicator hosting the YouTube podcast Healthy Dialogue where he explores public health medical innovation and science communication with leading experts. He has played a significant role in national awareness campaigns including serving as a spokesperson for WHO’s immunization campaigns and national COVID-19 information campaigns.

Since 2020 he has worked at the United Nations Association of Georgia leading the organization’s public health programs. In 2025 he was elected President of the Georgian Association for Public Health and Well-being.
