Batumi Hosted the 21st International Congress of the Georgian Dental Association

On July 11-12, 2025, the Georgian Dental Association (GSA) successfully held its 21st Annual International Congress at the Sheraton Hotel in Batumi, attracting significant interest from the dental community. The event brought together leading Georgian and international specialists who shared their latest achievements and clinical experiences with the audience.

On the first day of the congress, Dr. Spiros Floratos (Greece) delivered a presentation on modern methods for managing iatrogenic errors and persistent infections in endodontics. The day also featured the presentation of a new two-volume textbook on endodontics. In the afternoon, Tea Natsvlishvili discussed the management of complications in periodontology and implantology, while Mariam Kurtsikidze and Nino Nebieridze conducted a hands-on course on the principles of posterior teeth restoration.

The second day of the congress was equally engaging. Professor Eugenio Pedullà (Italy) spoke about minimization strategies in endodontic treatment. Zurab Iakobishvili introduced attendees to modern approaches in tooth preparation. The President of the GSA, Ketevan Gogilashvili, discussed the impact of pubertal changes on oral health. The congress concluded with a lecture and a hands-on course led by the GSA’s Vice-President, Sofio Samkharadze, focusing on the optimal selection of root canal obturation materials in complex endodontic cases.
